The 2026-2027 Be Outside, Idaho Grant Cycle is Now Open

The Be Outside, Idaho organization is excited to announce that the 2026–2027 grant cycle is now open to interested applicants. The grant supports groups and individuals who help get children outdoors, including teachers, librarians, daycare facilities, and more. The application deadline is October 30, 2026.

• This grant operates on a reimbursement basis only.
• Funds will be awarded upon project completion and submission of a fully completed grant report, including photos, that meets all grant requirements by June 4, 2027.
• The grant does not cover things like transportation, entrance fees, food, school track or gym rentals, permanent staff salaries, or t-shirts/promotional materials.
• It can help pay for short-term specialists who are key to the project—such as interns, Master Naturalists, or other trained experts who assist with research, fieldwork, outreach, or education.

About Be Outside, Idaho
Be Outside, Idaho is a program designed to connect Idaho’s youth to the outdoors through a variety of outdoor and environmental education projects and experiences. Applications are welcome for projects that support the mission: “To connect children with nature in Idaho, from backyards to mountaintops.”

Be Outside, Idaho is a project of the Idaho Recreation and Tourism Initiative (IRTI), a coalition of state and federal agencies and non-profit organizations that collaborate to encourage youth, families, and schools to get outdoors through recreation and natural resource education. Grants, funded by initiative partners, are awarded to Idaho schools, government entities, and non-profit organizations that demonstrate support for the Be Outside, Idaho mission and meet all program criteria.
