The southbound off-ramp at the Fort Hall Interchange (Exit 80) will close for approximately one hour beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
The Idaho Transportation Department will shift southbound Interstate 15 traffic on to new lanes built in the median near Fort Hall tomorrow, prompting a short-term ramp closure at Fort Hall. This shift will create the space needed to continue widening I-15 to three lanes in each direction.
Traffic will be shifted from the Sheepskin Road Bridge to north of the 2 ½ Mile Road Bridge. Motorists can expect:
- The southbound off-ramp at the Fort Hall Interchange (Exit 80) will close for approximately one hour beginning at 7 p.m. Motorists may detour to the Northgate Interchange (Exit 73) or South Blackfoot Interchange (Exit 89).
- Intermittent I-15 southbound lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Two lanes will remain open in each direction during the daytime.
Construction on the I-15 Northgate to Fort Hall project began in fall 2024 to improve safety and capacity by widening I-15 to three lanes in each direction. This $200 million project is expected to be completed in 2027.
